1st Ward Councilman


Asantewa Anyabwile was born and raised in Steubenville, Ohio. She is a graduate of Steubenville High School and a graduate of The Ohio State University, with a BA in Communications. Asantewa moved to Los Angeles where she did post graduate work at Cal State LA.
While living in Los Angeles, Asantewa married and then moved to North Carolina. She was a stay-at home mom and homeschooled her now three wonderful and
responsible adult children.

Upon returning to Steubenville, Asantewa worked as an intake worker in the CAC HEAP Dept. She then was hired by Jefferson Behavior Health Services as an adult case manager. Mrs. Anyabwile is currently continuing her career as a case manager with Coleman Professional Services.

When Asantewa moved back to Steubenville, She saw the conditions and how they had changed. She wanted to help make a difference and became more
involved in the community. She joined and eventually became president of Labelle Neighbors Who Care, a community based non-profit organization. She was a full term board member and secretary of the CAC. She works with the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Association. She is an advocate-for healthy lifestyles. And, she is a line dance teacher.
