Work to resume – SR 7

Work to resume; traffic to be restricted at University Boulevard

JEFFERSON COUNTY – On Wednesday, March 14th, ODOT’s contractor will
be switching traffic on State Route 7.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction from University Boulevard
to Franklin Avenue in a crossover pattern onto the existing southbound lanes.

Left turns on University Blvd. will not be permitted again when traveling north
on SR 7. The same detour will be posted as last year.

Work during this phase will include: removal of the SR 7 northbound pavement,
new drainage, lowering the road to match the elevation of the newly constructed
lanes for the at-grade crossing, constructing Labelle Ave. for the new Marina
entrance, finishing the Connector Rd., and new highway lighting.

Motorists are asked to be patient and use an alternate route to avoid delays
during the switch on Wednesday, March 14th.

ODOT’s contractor for this $10 million access improvement project is Shelly &
Sands Inc., from Columbus, Ohio, and the completion date for all work is
November 30, 2018.
